The mattress is built on a 1000 pocket spring unit. Each spring is housed separately and responds to weight on its own, so movement on one side of the bed is far less noticeable on the other. In a zip and link set that matters twice over, because the two halves are independent mattresses to begin with. Two people sharing get support tailored to their own weight rather than a compromise between them.

Above the springs sit multiple layers of natural fillings and a layer of memory foam, which softens the initial contact and eases pressure at the shoulders and hips. The surface is finished with a cotton top, and the whole mattress is deep hand tufted so the fillings stay where they were put instead of migrating into ridges and hollows over time.

It is double sided, which means it can be flipped as well as rotated. That doubles the usable sleeping surface over the life of the mattress and is one of the more effective ways to protect a bigger investment in a room that is slept in every night.
