The support layer is a 1000 pocket spring unit. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and compresses independently, so the mattress follows the shape of the body rather than pushing back as a single sheet. The practical result is less motion transfer, which is what stops one person's movement waking the other.

In a zip and link configuration that independence goes further. Because the two halves are separate mattresses, each side of the bed can carry its own tension, so two people with genuinely different comfort preferences can share a bed without one of them compromising.

Above the springs are multiple layers of natural fillings and a layer of memory foam, which softens the initial feel and eases pressure at the shoulders and hips. The surface is finished with a cotton top, and the mattress is deep hand tufted so the layers stay in position instead of migrating over time.
